Tucked away in the gorgeous rolling hills of Virginia is a gorgeous new wedding venue, The Ivy Rose Barn. When I first discovered this new wedding venue, I knew I wanted to plan an editorial here to see all of the beauty. So that is exactly what we did! The forecast for the week of the shoot was rain. And the day we had planned was the only option for this shoot. So there could not have been a rain plan. Rain or shine, this day was going to happen!
Upon arrival, it was a misty cloudy morning. It only drizzled for about 10 minutes all day and that was it. So we were all grateful that was the worst that happened. We didn’t get that pretty golden hour lighting. But we did get a very moody and romantic Autumn Editorial. I’ve been calling this shoot “Autumn Romance” because that is exactly what it feels like to me. Clouds can allow for images just as beautiful!
This Ivy Rose Barn wedding editorial was filled with romantic and ethereal vibes. A lot of figs, florals and greenery. Our dress couldn’t have been more perfect from Karen Willis Holmes. A spotted tulle bustier with detachable ruffled edwardian sleeves. It was the best blend of modern and vintage. The paper goods by Papier Handmade had a moody impressionistic feel to them. Paired together with the florals and figs were just magical.
Overall, I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out! It’s a fresh take on a floral filled Fall shoot. And I loved every second of it!
